When it comes to creating top quality audio, it isn’t Renoise that’s limiting you, it is your own creativity. You see, this powerful application provides you with all the tools you need to create something amazing. It is a powerful Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) that can be used just as easily by novices and veterans to generate a variety of tunes.

Renoise is a cross-platform application, meaning that it runs on Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows. Focusing on Microsoft’s operating system, the minimum system requirements for running Renoise on a 32 or 64-bit Windows edition are: Pentium 4 processor with SSE instruction set, graphics card that can support 16-bit 1024x600 resolution, sound card supported by DirectX, DirectX 8 or newer. To input notes easier, it is recommended that you have a MIDI keyboard.

The setup wizard that helps you install Renoise on a Windows PC asks to associate the application with RNS, XRNS, XRNI, XRNT, and XRNX files. Once the installation process completes, the same setup wizard invites you to view a Quick Start Tutorial. You are well advised to check out this tutorial as it gives a clear presentation of the application’s interface and the functionality it has to offer. To further help you figure out how to use Renoise, the developer provides video tutorials on the application’s official website.

As mentioned above, a clear description of Renoise’s interface is provided in the Quick Start Tutorial. The nice thing about the interface is that it can be customized with themes. Just go to the Preferences menu, the Theme submenu, and you can load one of the many themes the application has to offer. If you don’t like a theme, just hit the Reset button and the default will be restored.

The functionality Renoise has to offer applies to the novice who’s starting out from his home, as well as to the veteran with access to a professional studio. It is a powerful tool that can be used to record, compose, edit and process top quality audio. You are provided with plug-ins, audio processors, virtual instruments, and various other bits and pieces you need to produce quality tracks.

Please note that Renoise is only free to try. To unlock its full potential, you need to purchase a license.

All the tools you need to produce top quality audio are provided by the powerful Renoise application.

Pros

Renoise is a cross-platform application; it works with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. The system requirements for running Renoise aren’t that hard to meet. There are video tutorials, a detailed User Manual, and a comprehensive Quick Start Tutorial. Renoise provides all you need to be able to create top quality audio.
